Is, Was and Will Be – The Unknown Character of Christ and His Word

A Message From Dad

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Good morning F____,
You said:
“My main hope is that you all receive a mega blessing from Dad, He sure knows how to make His children’s day doesn’t He?”
That is exactly what I get every time I get a letter from you! It is always so full of God’s Word that it is always “a message from Abba.”
You know how it is. It’s not always some huge new understanding, but it is always a huge confirmation of what He has already shown us is His mind in all things. Like the scripture in Isaiah you reference:

Isa 26:12  LORD, thou wilt ordain peace for us: for thou also hast wrought all our works in us.
Isa 26:13  O LORD our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name.
Isa 26:14  They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish

Reading  verse twelve, “You have wrought all our works in us” in the Old Testament is nothing more or less than Christ saying “I can do nothing of Myself, My Father does the works,” or “without me you can do nothing;” or Paul saying “I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I but Christ liveth in me”; or “all things are of God”.
Verse thirteen is simply a confession of our sins and our complete submission to them. It is a recognition that even our faith in God is a gift from God. It is just another way of  stating Ephesian 2:8

Eph 2:8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [ it is] the gift of God:

And verse 14 is nothing more or less that Rom 6:

Rom 6:3  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Rom 6:4  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Rom 6:14  For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

It is just wonderful what the “Christ in you… live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God” understanding opens up to our spiritual eyes for those who have been given eyes to see.
I’ve got to get going, but your letters always light up my day because I know I am going to be getting “a message from Dad.”
Your brother in the Christ,
Mike
