Is, Was and Will Be – The Unknown Character of Christ and His Word

How is Satan Cast Out of Heaven?

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Hi M____,
Thank you for your question. You ask:

The key to understanding this and every other verse of this, or any prophecy, is verse 3 of Revelation one and verse 7 of chapter 22:

Rev 1:3 Blessed [ is] he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
Rev 22:7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

So we are told in the first chapter that this prophecy is to be kept by us all. It was knowing this that caused John to weep when he was told that this book was sealed and could not be opened by any man.

Rev 5:4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

It takes the risen Christ, slain from the foundation of the world, to come into us and live His life of “dying daily” in us, to break the seven seals and show us what it is we must keep which is “written therein.”

Rev 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

When we finally are given eyes to see this “Lion of the tribe of Judah,” this is what we see:

Rev 5:6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

What we see as a Lion is a dead lamb. Of course the lion and the lamb are both symbols for Christ in us. The word “lo”, meaning ‘look’, is itself a symbol of our understanding of the symbols of this book.
Lest we forget as we read the things written therein that this is a prophecy we are intended to keep within our lives, we have this admonition to keep the sayings of this prophecy repeated at the end of this book:

Rev 22:7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

The symbol of which you inquire, which we all must keep, is Satan being cast out of heaven. I simply cannot, in this e- mail, explain this whole prophecy, so I am going to ask you to read the paper in the essential reading section in the upper left corner of the home page entitled, What and Where Is Heaven? Read that paper and then if you still have a question about how Satan must be cast out of heaven, please feel free to write me again.
God bless your efforts to get to know Him and His Son whom He has sent. That is the very definition of eternal life.

Joh 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Your brother in Christ,
Mike>
