Is, Was and Will Be – The Unknown Character of Christ and His Word

Satan and His Angels and The Lake of Fire

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Hi D____,
Thanks for your question.

I can do no more than to repeat what Christ said in Mat. 25: 41.
It was Christ who said that Gehenna fire is prepared for the devil and his angels. And it was Christ who said that if our hands or eyes offend us to get rid of them or else we would be “cast into Gehenna fire:”

Mat 25:41  Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Mat 5:27  Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
Mat 5:28  But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Mat 5:29  And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell[ Greek – gehenna].
Mat 5:30  And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. [ Greek – gehenna]

What Christ is telling us is that ‘gehenna’ is the exact same thing as the lake of fire. What He is telling us is that when He is finished with His work for His Father, every thing in heaven and in earth will be in subjection to His Father:

1Co 15:28  And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

The submission of Satan to Christ is a hard pill for Babylon to swallow. But here is what is written:

Col 1:20  And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

The angels to the seven churches are not spirit beings in heaven who are not relevant to the churches. These angels are our brothers in Christ who minister to us. Look at what they themselves reveal about who they symbolize:

Rev 19:10  And I fell at his feet [ the feet of the angel] to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Rev 22:8  And I John saw these things, and heard [ them]. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
Rev 22:9  Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

“I am of your brothers who have the testimony of Jesus… I keep the saying of the prophecy of this book.” That is who are the angels of the seven churches in symbol. Conversely Satan’s angels are in the pulpits of orthodox Christianity with “another gospel, another Jesus and another spirit.”
The Greek word translated ‘angel’ simply means ‘messenger.’ Here is Strong’s definition:
G32
αγγελος
aggelos
ang’- el- os
From αγγελλω aggello (probably derived from G71; compare G34; to bring tidings); a messenger; especially an “angel”; by implication a pastor: – angel, messenger.
I hope this has clarified for you why I pointed out Mattew 25:41, D____. Christ’s sacrifice reaches beyond Adam and his seed. It purges even the fallen spirits and places them under His subjection.

Col 1:20  And, having made peace through the blood of his cross , by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
