Seeing Interesting Types in Hebrews
Hi Mike,
Heb 3:4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.
Heb 3:5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;
Heb 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
Heb 3:7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
Heb 3:8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
Heb 3:9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
Heb 3:10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
Heb 3:11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
Heb 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.The house of Jesus Christ/ body of Christ is being built today on a firm foundation (Eph 2:20). Notice closely verse 6 above; every individual member has to hold fast their confidence and faith firm unto, just as those in Heb 11th chapter. The building of the house of Moses, as a type of Christ, is hardly apparent in Heb 9:20-24 unless one looks closely. Now notice the span of time which is not readily apparent unless you look closely in the Old Testament, between verse 20 and 21. In the OT type of Moses referred to in Heb 9:20-23, a great deal of effort and activity takes place between the sprinkling of the blood on the book and the people and the setting up of the Levitical priesthood in order for Moses to sprinkle the blood on both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. It was at that time that Moses was admonished to follow the pattern in the mount in the building of the tabernacle, Heb 8:5. Why? Because the people sat down and played, 1Co 10:7. Because this type is hidden so well, and that has to be by God’s design, it is largely ignored by the present day church, but perhaps the time has come for this to change.
Mike, this is of utmost importance to the church today to understand that the house of Jesus Christ is still being set up today! With my neck and the pain associated with typing, I lack the ability to handle the enormous task of presenting this concept fully. But I can think of no one more qualified in types and shadows than you, who would be equal to the task of presenting this important type to the church via the internet. Accompanying verses, but not all are, Heb 8:5, 9:23, 10:1. The whole book of Hebrews is full concerning this. 2Co 3:3 is most important in realizing that God is writing the law of Christ on the tables of the hearts of the individual members of the body of Christ. Now Jesus came as a servant/ minister to the circumcision with the law of Christ, Rom 15:8, and was rejected. He proclaimed that his blood was the blood of the new covenant/ testament, Mat 26:28, and gave the law of Christ and was rejected. So he went back up the Mount, and now God is writing the new law of Christ on the tables of the heart, rather than stone for when he comes back, with his house established, to further sprinkle the blood of the aionios covenant, Heb 13:20. You have aspects of the day of atonement sacrifice along with passover sacrifice blended together here.
Whoever wrote Hebrews, most likely Paul, thought the return of Christ was imminent, but he was wrong in that the house of Jesus Christ is larger than he imagined. That is how I see it now but would not be surprised if God, through his scriptures shows me otherwise. This is a huge type, Mike, and is hidden but clearly visible if one has the eyes to see. All the aspects of the type of Moses and his house and the setting up of the house of Christ following that type is too big for me to even present in any fashion with my disability. Let me know if you see the same type as I see regarding the setting up of the house of Moses and the setting up of the house of Christ, whose house we are.L____
Hi L____,
Thank you for sharing your insights with me.
You say:
Mike this is of utmost importance to the church today to understand that the house of Jesus Christ is still being set up today!
I could not agree more. The whole thrust of iswasandwillbe. com is to demonstrate that “man[ kind] will live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God”, and that Christ’s “words will not pass away”, and those words are always “near even at the door” in every generation to those who are given to “read and hear and keep the things written therein.”
Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Mat 24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer [ is] nigh:
Mat 24:33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
Mat 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
Mat 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
So you are so right when you say it “is of utmost importance to the church today to understand that the house of Jesus Christ is still being set up today!” Here are the scriptures in Heb 9 to which you alluded.
Heb 9:20 Saying, This [ is] the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
Heb 9:21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.
Heb 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Heb 9:23 [ It was] therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
Heb 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, [ which are] the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
The fact is that the entire process of setting up the house of Jesus Christ has been taking place in every generation since Christ, and it will take every saint in whom Christ has taken up residence to complete that house in time to “rule the nations with a rod of iron… for a thousand years…” and then to “judge angels…” in the “lake of fire,” because there are so few to whom it has been given “see all these things [ and] know that it is near even at the doors” in “this generation” which is every generation since Christ.
Mat 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen. [ in every generation]
Mat 13:10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them [ the multitudes who are called but not chosen] in parables?
Mat 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
It is in Mat 24 that we are told that the “man of sin” is living in the house of God, if only it is given us to “see all these things”
Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
“When we see the abomination of desolation… stand in the holy place” that is when we will see what God has shown you, that “the house of Jesus Christ is still being set up today”, and “that man of sin [ is] being revealed, [ as] the son of perdition; who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”
2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for [ that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
2Th 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
2Th 2:6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
He is “revealed in his time” when it is given to us to “see all these things coming to pass” and to “see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet standing in the holy place” within our own hearts and minds, which have been saturated with all the false doctrines which have taken over the entire orthodox Christian church since the days of the apostles.
2Ti 1:15 This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.
Rev 1:4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace [ be] unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;
Seven is not seven, and Asia is not Asia. These symbols represent the whole orthodox Christian church which had been completely hijacked by the “man of sin” before the apostles were even in their graves.
3Jn 1:9 I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not.
3Jn 1:10 Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church.
So the church itself had become the “synagogue of Satan” while both Paul and John were still alive. Many were called, but few were chosen, and nothing has changed since that day, simply because it is “not given to them to understand the mysteries of the kingdom of God… within you”, which is the same as the house that is being set up for Jesus Christ within us.
Thank you again for sharing your revelation with me and for your faith in me to share it with others. Lord willing, that is exactly what I will do.
Please join us on ustream each Sunday morning. There is live fellowship chat before and after the Bible study. We are going through the book of Revelation and demonstrating that the revelation of Jesus Christ is the setting up of His house within us.
Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door [ of my own temple], and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me [ in my house].
1Pe 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
1Co 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
Your brother in Christ,
Mike
