Is, Was and Will Be – The Unknown Character of Christ and His Word

What Does a Spiritual Throne Represent?

Hi J____,

You are exactly right about the word ‘throne’. It is often translated ‘seat’ in the KJV, but it is throne.
The only throne that is permanent is God’s throne. It is the head of every other throne that ever has or ever will exist, and yes, it is immutable and non transferable. The Father can no more abandon the throne than He can deny being the Creator of our Creator. Even Christ who is called “the Everlasting Father and the Almighty is given those titles by His Father who is greater than Christ is.

Isa 9:6  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Rev 1:8  I [ Christ] am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Joh 14:28  Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come [ again] unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

So Christ is the Everlasting Father and the Almighty under His Father, and as you pointed out, He has been given to sit on his Father’s throne, and He has been given the power to rule all of the world even as His Father maintains the power of that throne. This is revealed by the type and shadow of Joseph’s sovereignty over all of Egypt.

Gen 41:40  Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

Joseph’s word became Pharaoh’s Word just as Christ’s words are His Father’s Words, and just as our words should be those of Christ.
I hope this serves to confirm for you the Truth of God’s Word on this subject of what is the throne in scripture. When we are seated with Christ on His throne in Heaven, we are also seated with His Father on His Father’s throne.

Rev 3:21  To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

I think you know that there can be no greater honor given to anybody.
Your brother in Christ,
Mike
