Am reading the last installment on gold in the word of our Lord, and I could  not understand the following:

Job 28:12 But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?
Job 28:13 Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.

Wisdom and understanding are not found in the land of the living? I thought that when the Father starts the process within us to make our minds like the mind of Christ, then we live in the land of the living… but according to Job 28:13 wisdom and understanding is not found there. Then I looked up the word in the concordance, and I found the following:

I have not studied it very thoroughly…. but seeing that the word chay is also translated “beast” and “beasts” many times makes it much more clear in a split second.
Wisdom and understanding is not found in the land of the beasts… not in the land of the multitudes… not in the land of congregation. Another one of those words which is translated in many different English words with very different meaning.

Thank you for sharing this bit of revelation with me.
It bears out the principle of the Cloud, Christ, being dark to those in the dark and light to those in the light.

Exo 14:20 And it [ the cloud which led Israel] came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.

That is a perfect description of the Word of God to this day. It is darkness to those in the dark, but it is noonday sun to those who are in the light, and what makes it so clear to those in the light is the fact that they are aware that God’s Word always has both a positive and a negative application, depending upon the subject under discussion and how the Word is applied to that subject.
A perfect example of this principle is the description of the wild beast of Rev 13. That beast is of course, mankind. The last verse of that chapter tells us, in the Greek that ‘666’ is the number of anthropos, ‘mankind’, not as the King James has it “of a man”. So our ‘beast’ is said to receive “a deadly wound”. A dead wild beast is the necessary prerequisite of our “new man”, our “man of the spirit”. But this “deadly wound” is said to be healed, and the whole world wonders after this beast whose deadly wound was healed.

Rev 13:1  And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
Rev 13:2  And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
Rev 13:3  And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

When our beast’s “deadly wound” is healed, he is no longer dead. He is now back to being a live and healthy beast again.

Mat 23:15  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte [ sincere convert given a ‘deadly wound’], and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

His “deadly wound is healed” by the very people who brought him to Christ.

Php 1:15  Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:
Php 1:16  The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:
Php 1:17  But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.
Php 1:18  What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

Those who preach Christ and are “not sincere”, are preaching “another Jesus”, but even that “first Adam” is “a figure of Christ”.

Rom 5:14  Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

So once again, we have an example of how God’s Word has both a negative and a positive application.
Getting back to Job:

Job 28:12  But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?
Job 28:13  Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.

The message here is that ‘wisdom is not found in the land of the living beast’, and the fact that the Hebrew or Aramaic behind this word translated “living” is also translated as “beast” makes that point abundantly clear.
