Seems I’m emailing you a lot lately! I just had a phone call from the Sydney morning Herald which is the “the” national newspaper over here in Australia. They are wanting to do an “expose” of sorts on my former church and its leader and through some means or another, my name came up as a “person of interest”.
I am basically asking your advice in this situation Mike. Do you think it is wise for me to “go on the record” and give my opinion regarding this matter? You should know me well enough by now that I’m not so foolish as to think that we are fighting flesh and blood but at the same time, this like my cancer and everything else that happens, is God working in me and through me to accomplish his will.
I would certainly appreciate any and all advice you can give me, Mike. Thanks for your time. It is always appreciated and never taken for granted.

Yes, I think I do know you well enough to know that you are aware of who is the author of this situation. We both know that this is of God. The only question is how you should react, and since you are asking me I will do what I always do and give you some scriptures to consider and then let you make your own decision.
I feel sure that you know that Esau, as Jacob’s twin brother, symbolizes that which so closely resembles God’s Truth and is yet so very far away from that Truth. It is of utmost importance that you remember that your election is on the backs of, in your particular case, on the backs of all of your brothers and sisters in your former church.

Rom 11:30  For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
Rom 11:31  Even so have these also now not believed, that t hrough your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

I can tell from what I have seen you write in the past that you are not the least bit bitter about your experience in that organization and I feel sure that you realize that your time there was “for your sake,” and not for theirs. My point is simply that you remember this when you talk to the newspaper. Take this opportunity to say what you have to say about that church and let these people know that this is but one of thousands such churches who are all using and abusing God’s Word. There is no doubt that they would much prefer to use you to attack your former church exclusively. That is something I would avoid doing. I myself mention what Billy Graham said in our “National Cathedral” when He proclaimed immediately after the 911 attacks: “God does not create evil,” and I contrast His words with God’s Words in Isa 45:7. I do the same with the doctrines of John Hagee, Paul Crouch, Kenneth Copeland, Jack Van Empe, et. al. But I always make it clear that my words are not personal attacks against any individual but only meant to contrast Truth with error.
When Jacob, in type “came out of Babylon,” and returned to Canaan, in the process he “bowed himself seven times to his brother Esau, and called Esau Lord.

Gen 33:3  And he passed over before them, and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother.

King Saul and David are nothing more that a more mature account of this same story. In this case God twice tells us, through David, “Touch not mine anointed neither do my prophets harm.”
So do what the Lord leads you to do, and just keep those verses in mind. This is an opportunity to testify to the Truth, so I would let them know what you had learned from all of this, and then let the chips fall where God wants them to fall.
