Is, Was and Will Be – The Unknown Character of Christ and His Word

God Creating Evil and Sending An Evil Spirit

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Dear Servant,
There is no difference so far as God’s sovereignty is concerned. That is why we are told:

Isa 45:7  I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil : I the LORD do all these [ things].
Pro 16:4  The LORD hath made all [ things] for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
Amo 3:6  Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?

The attempt to make things that God is creating and doing appear to be completely out of God’s control and the result of man’s fabled “free” will, has no basis in scripture. God makes it abundantly clear that He is “working all things after the counsel of His own will.

Eph 1:11  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own wil l:

Christ even tells us to pray after this manner:

Mat 6:9  After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Mat 6:13  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen

Why would “Our Father in heaven” have us to ask Him to “lead us not into temptation,” if our temptations were solely the result of our own free will? The answer is that our temptations have nothing to do with our supposed ‘free’ will, but have everything to do with the fact that God is working all things after the counsel of His own will.

Eph 1:11  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will :

The reason that I point out that God uses evil spirits to accomplish the evil in our lives is that is what the scriptures reveal:

1Sa 16:14  But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.

I have already written much on this subject and cannot repeat it all here. I urge you to read After The Counsel Of His Own Will. Read that paper and if you still have questions please let me know.
Your brother in Christ,
Mike
