I’m reading this with great interest and a dawning of understanding.

I’m curious whether or not you think that Jesus being born of the Holy Spirit but prophesied to come through the “gene pool”, if you will, of David, ranks as a type? It is not as it seems. How can His lineage be of David and Abraham but not have the physical genes of them? Unless this is a type?

I am gratified that you are experiencing “a dawning of understanding.”

Rest assured that everything and everyone from Adam to Christ is but a type of Christ. Adam is called “the son of God” typically in Luke.

Luk 3:38 Which was [ the son] of Enos, which was [ the son] of Seth, which was [ the son] of Adam, which was the son of God.

Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, David, Solomon, etc. one and all typify the reality of Christ in their walk with God.

But all Old Testament personalities including Abraham and David, like the “bread from heaven” of John six, are but types and shadows. :

Joh 6:30 They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?
Joh 6:31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
Joh 6:32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Fatherngiveth you the true bread from heaven.
Joh 6:33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

Christ does not say that the “bread from heaven” was really ‘bread from heaven’ even though the people had quoted Exo 16:4 perfectly:

Exo 16:4 Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you…

Christ tells us that He is the true bread from heaven. The manna, though scripturally called ‘bread from heaven, was but a shadowy type of the true bread from heaven.

Abel’s blood “crying out to God” typified the shedding of the blood of Christ. I do not have the time to do so now, but we could take every Old Testament patriarch and demonstrate how they typified some aspect of Christ. The Unveiling of Jesus Christ is not the book of Revelation extracted from the rest of God’s Word. The unveiling of Jesus Christ, which we are to be so careful not to add to or take away from, is the entire Word of God. It all typifies Christ, right down to the serpent that was raised up in the wilderness. This is an enigma to most theologians because they cannot understand the statement that stares them in the face in the very first book of the Bible: “The man has become as one of us, to know good and evil.” Orthodox Christians deny that it is God who “forms darkness.” They flatly deny that it is God who “creates evil.” Consequently they demonstrate that they have been given by God “eyes that they cannot see and ears that they cannot hear.”

Rom 11:8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.
Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
