Is Every Man Saved By Fire?
Hello, it’s me again thank you for your quick reply to my last question. This question is the biggest question of them all for me and it deals with being saved by fire. Here is the passage.
1Co 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
1Co 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1Co 3:12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
1Co 3:13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
1Co 3:14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
1Co 3:15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.Paul says he laid the foundation of Jesus Christ and it seems from the context of the passage that those who have the foundation of Jesus Christ will be saved by fire. Now I know y’all aren’t that big into context, but could you make this passage come alive to me more so I can see the possibility of unbelievers somehow having the foundation of Jesus Christ. Because to me this seems like it’s talking about Jesus Christ the Rock which not everyone has or has been given. So if people don’t have the foundation of Jesus Christ, then it seems like they might not be saved by fire, and, trust me, I WANT THEM ALL TO BE SAVED NO MATTER WHAT! God dealt with me about this doctrine big time, It makes NO SENSE! More and more babies are brought into the world for what?? Just to be eternally
tormented in literal fire when God could stop it? So once again, please make this passage come more alive to me if you can cause the context shows Paul laid the foundation of Jesus Christ. Thank you and God bless you guys.

Hello again, and thank you for your questions.
I will answer your questions one by one, and I hope the Lord uses me to help you along in your understanding. If you have not had a chance to do so, please visit web site: http:// www. iswasandwillbe. com. To the right of the page, we have a questions and answers section called “FAQ’s” which answers many questions in a very detailed format.
You state:
“Paul says he laid the foundation of Jesus Christ and it seems from the context of the passage that those who have the foundation of Jesus Christ
will be saved by fire. Now I know y’all aren’t that big into context, but could you make this passage come alive to me more so I can see the
possibility of unbelievers somehow having the foundation of Jesus Christ.”
Indeed, the foundation that has been paid is Jesus Christ, and no other foundation can be laid. What Paul is stating is that he was simply used to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to the church at Corinth. It is Jesus Christ Himself who has laid the foundation:
(Mar 14:58) We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.
(Joh 2:18) Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
(Joh 2:19) Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
Now, there are some foundational doctrines that we must address before we can begin to get to the core of the questions you pose. I will step through them one by one with you. Keep in mind that God is a consuming fire, and 1 Cor. 3:15 states we will be saved by fire, so we must start to question the horrible, insane and completely unbiblical doctrine of “eternal hell fire”.
(Heb 12:28) Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
(Heb 12:29) For our God is a consuming fire.
God is a consuming fire, so we must ask ourselves how “eternal hell fire” can burn literally when God himself CONSUMES. How can something that CONSUMES not consume everything it comes in contact with? Well, once we see what “hell” is, and once we see how God is truly a consuming fire, we can then begin to see what the scriptures reveal about your questions, Lord willing. How can “hell fire” NOT consume when God who made “hell” consumes everything? Do you see how this doesn’t add up? Let’s look at what the scripture reveals.
Here we have a Greek word that is used many times over in English, but it is translated into many different English words from one Greek word, G165. The word ‘aion’ is what is used in English to express ever, eternal, evermore, etc. Take a look at this list. With this list, you can see what is derived in English from the Greek word, aion.

This may look very detailed and complicated, but once you get use to what you are looking at, this becomes VERY exciting and much more revealing.
I will use only two of the above entries to show you what we should be looking for. I encourage you to truly look through these entries to see if they can possibly mean eternal or evermore.
(Mat 6:13) And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Here we have the example of how Christ says we should pray. The last word here is “ever.” This is the word aion which is the same word used in Mat 12:32 as world.
(Mat 12:32) And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
Now, I want to ask you why the translators decided to make this word “world” in Mat 12:32 and not “ever” where it is translated as such in Mat 6:13? Doesn’t that seem a bit odd? That is just one example.
There are, however two times that the translators got it right. The two entries are listed above as Eph 2:7 and Col 1:26, and they are translated as an age or ages. Let’s take a look at those two verses.
(Eph 2:7) That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
(Col 1:26) Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
I ask myself why it is not translated this way throughout the entries we saw above. The simple fact of the matter is that the translators would expose their hypocrisy in doing so. Go through these entries and apply the word age instead of whatever is used instead, and see if it makes sense to you. The Holy Spirit will reveal to you what the Truth of the matter is. Aion should always be translated as “age” or “ages”.
The second part of “eternal hell” is of course the biggest part to most of Christendom. That part is “hell”. So, what do the scriptures reveal about hell? Well, one of the most insidious doctrines in Christendom is spoken about very little in scripture, surprisingly.
Here is the Greek word translated into English as “hell”.

grave, 1
1Co_15:55
The Lord truly is wonderful. In His infinite wisdom, He has left us a very important clue as to what this doctrine is made of – garbage.
You probably noticed that “hell” is used only eleven times in scripture. Ten of those times it is indeed consistent and is translated as “hell”. However, we have one stray, and that Isa 1Co 15:55. This one stray reminds me a lot of the one sheep who goes astray from the ninety- nine : )
(1Co 15:55) O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
Wow! Look at that. Try to place “hell” here as it was translated in those other 10 places. To do so by the translators would have been doctrinal suicide. Can you imagine this being said?
(1Co 15:55) O death, where is thy sting? O hell, where is thy victory?
Of course not. If it were stated as such, then this would smash the concept that hell is indeed eternal or forever. In fact, try to insert grave in the other 10 verses where they say grave and you will see exactly why they should say grave.
(2Ti 2:15) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
I have taken the time to list the other 10 here as grave instead of hell. Take a look at these verses.
(Mat 11:23) And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to “ the grave”: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
(Mat 16:18) And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of “ the grave” shall not prevail against it.
(Luk 10:15) And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to “ the grave“.
(Luk 16:23) And in “ the grave” he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
(Act 2:27) Because thou wilt not leave my soul in “ the grave“, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
(Act 2:31) He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in “ the grave“, neither his flesh did see corruption.
(Rev 1:18) I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of “ the grave” and of death.
(Rev 6:8) And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and “ the grave” followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
(Rev 20:13) And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and “ the grave” delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
(Rev 20:14) And death and “ the grave” were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
I see many things in these verses which pose some serious questions about why “hell” is translated as such. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you guidance on what is being said here, and you will have your answer.
Let’s continue to work through the rest of your questions.
You state:
“Because to me this seems like it’s talking about Jesus Christ the Rock which not everyone has or has been given. So if people don’t have the foundation of Jesus Christ,
then it seems like they might not be saved by fire, and, trust me, I WANT THEM ALL TO BE SAVED NO MATTER WHAT!”
Indeed, God will have all men to be saved. God does not WANT or WISH, GOD WILLS. Paul is definitely speaking about Jesus Christ. He is THE WAY, TRUTH and LIFE!
(Joh 12:32) And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
(Joh 12:33) This he said, signifying what death he should die.
We both know that Christ was indeed lifted up. He says “IF I BE LIFTED UP”, all men will be drawn. The Greek here reveals that ‘draw’ should be translated as ‘drag’.
(1Co 15:22) For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
We all are of Adam, and because of this we ALL DIE. Who will deny that? However, most of all Christianity DENIES the next part of the verse: “so in Christ shall ALL be made ALIVE.”
Isn’t the first “all” the same “all” in the second part of the verse? Well, indeed it is, and the sum of the scriptures reveals this to be true. Here are a few examples:
Psa 119:160 The sum of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous ordinances is everlasting. (ASV)
(1Co 15:28) And when all things shall be subdued unto him (Christ), then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
(1Ti 2:4) Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. (God doesn’t wish, He WILL)
(1Ti 4:10) For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially (not ONLY or exclusively) of those that believe.
(2Pe 3:9) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us- ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Continuing, you state:
“God dealt with me about this doctrine big time, It makes NO SENSE! More and more babies are brought into the world for what?? Just to be eternally tormented in literal fire when God could stop it? So once again please make this passage come more alive to me if you can because the context shows Paul laid the foundation of Jesus Christ. Thank you and God bless you guys.”
I think we have seen in the scripture that eternity and hell are simply hoaxes. They are instruments for fear and instruments for EXTREME cruelty, but they are used of the Lord for those who He chooses to give “eyes to see and ears to hear”. The orthodox Christian church has gone astray from their Husband and committed fornication with the doctrines of demons. They have wiped their mouth and said they have done nothing wrong.
(Pro 30:20) Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness.
All of Christendom has left their first love, and I am speaking of myself doing so at one time. We all do. It is what the Word of God says we do, and I believe it.
(Rev 2:4) Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou (Steven) hast left thy first love.
(Rev 2:5) Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
(Rev 1:3) Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
(Rev 22:7) Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
We must keep the things written therein. We must all live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. There are no exceptions. Every human ever born of a woman will indeed live by every word, including aborted babies. The book of Revelation is the book of “The Revelation of Jesus Christ” and that book is THE ENTIRE bible cover to cover. Christ says:
(Joh 5:39) Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
(Luk 24:44) And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
The entirety of the bible is written concerning the Revelation of Jesus Christ. It is all there and it is for ALL.
I hope I have been used of the Lord to help you with this doctrine of demons. The Lord is not slack in revealing all things to those who ask. We must be willing, however, when we are presented with the answer – whatever it may be – to follow Christ’s very first words to us, Repent:
(Mat 4:17) From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Your brother in the Christ,
Steven
