Is, Was and Will Be – The Unknown Character of Christ and His Word

Restoration And Keeping The Sayings Of This Book

Hi M____,
It is always a joy to see your name in my letters.
No, I am not familiar with either the name of the teachings of Arthur Wallis, but you are right that I would take exception to either of their teachings as you characterize them.
What is missing in both is the fact that when Christ said “this generation will not pass away until all these things be fulfilled” is that “this generation”, is not any one particular generation, but the one reading at any particular time.

Mar 13:14  But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

Rev 1:3  Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
Rev 22:7  Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

“The time is at hand… I come quickly,” for any who are “reading and hearing the words of this prophecy” in any generation because we must all “keep the sayings of the prophecy of this book,” and “this book” is to be taken in its “sum, every word is to be lived by” God’s elect in every generation since Christ.

Mat 4:4  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Mat 24:35  Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Psa 119:160  The sum of thy word is truth; And every one of thy righteous ordinances endureth for ever.

I hope this is of some edification. You are always in our thoughts and prayers.
Your brother in Christ,
Mike
