I have a friend who asked me a question that you may be able to answer better than me. Here is his question. “I am still left with questions about the LOF. The point that I need the most clarification on is the Lamb’s Book of Life in Revelation. Those who preach Eternal Damnation say that you are in the Book, or you are not. Those who are in it don’t see the LOF and those who are not get thrown into the LOF (their words).

You say:

In order to answer this question concerning the Lamb’s book of life, and who is and is not cast into the lake of fire, we must first understand who is in the book of life and what is the lake of fire.
Look at this verse of scripture in Exo 32:

Exo 32:33 And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

If there is any truth to that verse, then all of mankind is in God’s book of life, and if there is any truth to Rom 3:23, then all of mankind is blotted out of God’s book:

Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Yet we are made to understand that there are those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life:

Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Rev 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Since it is clearly stated that Christ is “the savior of all men”, and not just the present believers, it should be clear that all men are first blotted out of God’s book of life, which is also the Lamb’s book of life:

Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Joh 16:15 All things that the Father hath are mine: [ the Father’s spirit and the book of life included] therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
1Ti 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

1Jn 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Since this is so clearly stated, and since it is also clearly stated that whoever sins against God will be blotted out of God’s book, it should be clear that all men are first in God’s book of life, then are all blotted out because of their sins. Then at God’s own predestined time a few are first reinstated into that book, and then, through what we know as “the lake of fire”, all men will eventually be reinstated in God’s and the Lamb’s book of life.
In this way the truth of these verses is realized by all:

Ecc 9:2 All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.
Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

1Co 3:21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;
1Co 3:22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;

Rev 1:3 Blessed [ is] he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

“The thing written therein” include the worship of the beast in Rev 13 and being in the book of life in Rev 21. It includes every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.
