Is, Was and Will Be – The Unknown Character of Christ and His Word

The Breastplate of Gold

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Hi again J____,

Thank you for your statement here. The armor of God and the breastplate of righteousness are indeed the breastplate of gold. All of God’s armor is really just Christ in us, and He certainly works in us to overcome all of the “things that God has against the seven churches” of Rev 2-3. I hope that you also are beginning to understand that no overcomer was born that way, and that the weaknesses, false doctrines and sins of the seven churches are what we see we have ourselves as we look behind us and see that we have overcome and that we have “kept” as we were being dragged to our Lord.

Rev 1:3  Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
Rev 1:10  I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
Rev 1:12  And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;

Here are a few verses which should help us all to keep these and all of God’s Word in its “is, was, and will be… will never pass away” perspective.

Ecc 9:2  All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.
Mat 4:4  But he answered and said, It is written, Man [ kind] shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
1Co 3:21  Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;
1Co 3:22  Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;
Rev 1:3  Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

This book simply confirms the Truth of these verses:

Eph 2:1  And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Eph 2:2  Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Eph 2:3  Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

The book of Revelation is to be kept because it fills in the details which are omitted here in Eph 2:1-3.
I hope this speaks to what you were seeing here. If not then please let me know.

Your brother in Christ,
Mike
