The God Of The Old Testament
Mike,
You just about blew my socks off… again.
In your Numbers series, Number 8 please scroll down to Col 3:10 where you said… “Jesus created them male and female.”
And in some other paper you said that Christ was the God of the Old Testament.
These I don’t understand at all. I guess then that Christ was in the fire by night, and the cloud by day, leading/ protecting the Children of Israel through the desert.
And… in the burning bush… and writing on the wall…’the finger of God’.
This is confusing. Please explain how ‘One’ God can be the Father and yet Jesus Christ, God’s created son, can be the God of the O. T. I know that Jesus is in the Father, and that the Father is in His Son, but I guess I don’t get that either.
Is it because Jesus and the Father are actually one and that the elect will be where Christ is now ,’in’ God, so then God is all in all after the millennium? I really don’t know why I said that.

Hi J____,
Thanks for your questions.
The conference was very good. You will be able to see it all in a couple of weeks on the site.
You ask:
Please explain how ‘One’ God can be the Father and yet Jesus Christ, God’s created son, can be the God of the O. T. I know that Jesus is in the Father, and that the Father is in His Son, but I guess I don’t get that either.
Is it because Jesus and the Father are actually one… and that the elect will be where Christ is now…’in’ God… so then… God is all in all… after the millennium?
Look at this verse of scripture straight from the mouth of Jesus Christ:
Joh 5:37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
Now I want you to also consider this verse of scripture:
1Pe 1:10 Of which salvation [“verse 9- “the salvation of your soul”] the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
1Pe 1:11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
1Pe 1:12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
The angels desire to understand what is now revealed to us about the “salvation that we are receiving… which was NOT unto themselves but unto us.”
But who was it that was telling the Old Testament prophets all of this? “… the Spirit of Christ which was in them.”
It had to be because:
“the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. “
Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Joshua, Manoah and others, both saw the shape and heard the voice of Yahweh the LORD. Who they assumed was the Father was really ‘the word [ which] was with God.’ It was Christ! So they were able to see and hear Him if He appeared as a man. Moses asked Christ to show him His glory, and Christ told Moses in response to “show me your glory” no man can see me and live. The talk and study notes I gave at the conference were on this subject. I hope you will take the time to read those study notes and listen to that talk. We have been given “great and precious promises” which include being glorified with Christ. What that means is that we, too, will be able to reveal to others who is the Father just as Christ came to do. This is the Truth:
Mat 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
Luk 10:22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
The church world today thinks they know both the Father and the Son, but according to these verses they did not know either then, and they still don’t know either the Father of the Son. How could they know God if He is only known by “whom the Son will reveal Him,” and they don’t even know the Son?
How can One God be God and yet Christ be the God Of the Old Testament? You answered your own question. God is in Christ and Christ is in God. This is how there is “one God.”.
Joh 10:38 (b) … though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
Joh 14:20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
But this is not a binity. Christ is the head of the church as God is the head of Christ:
1Co 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
I hope this helps you to see how Christ is the God of the Old Testament.
Christ came to reveal someone who had never before been revealed:
Mat 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
Here is how that was accomplished:
Joh 14:7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
Joh 14:8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
Joh 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou [ then], Shew us the Father?
Joh 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Have you “seen the Father?” We all need to do so, and not ‘after the millennium.’ We need to see Him now:
If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
Mike
