Is, Was and Will Be – The Unknown Character of Christ and His Word

Time Spend In Babylon

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Hi L___,

You ask if I have any comments about you missing your spiritual childhood. I get this same question concerning my own children who have never been in a Babylonian church for any period of time.

The answer is that we all deal with Babylon and her doctrines by virtue of being in this world. My children have had to fight against all that is Babylon, just as I did, in their relationships with their friends at school and with the fact that I was still attending Concordant Bible Conferences when they were in their teens. One of my daughters married a charismatic Pentecostal whom we met at a Concordant Bible Conference, and has converted to Pentecostalism, with all of its false tongues and believing in all the false miracles and a doctrine of limited sovereignty that comes with that mindset.

So we all “come out of her” in some way or another, and none of us actually miss out on being in Babylon to the extent that God sees fit for us to be there. Have no fear, you have spent plenty of time in Babylon and you will be “coming out of her,” as long as you are dealing with others who are attempting to share with you the blessings of “planting a seed to fill your need,” and any other such doctrines you will encounter by simply living in the United States of America. Babylon is not just Christianity. God has a covenant with Noah and his seed after him, just as He has with Abraham and his seed.

Gen 9:7  And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.
Gen 9:8  And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,
Gen 9:9  And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;

So the dragon really does have the whole world deceived:

Rev 12:9  And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

No one escapes that deception. It is common to all men, but God opens the eyes of a very few at this time to see through that deception, and He will use those few, as His agency to bring all men of all time back to Himself.”

Rom 11:30  For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
Rom 11:31  Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

I hope this helps you to see that you need not worry about the amount of time you have spent in Babylon, and I pray that you see your sufferings as but a needed “thorn in the flesh,” to keep you humbled over the multitude of revelations you have been given:

2Co 12:7  And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

We have nothing in which to glory in the flesh, but we can do all things through Christ which strengthens us. Our time in Babylon, is not even a factor, except that it is a necessary evil which we will all endure.

1Co 1:29  That no flesh should glory in his presence.
Php 4:13  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Here is quite a verse to contemplate. It seems to be impossible, and yet it is true for us all, from God’s perspective:

1Co 3:22  Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;
1Co 3:23  And ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.

I hope this helps you to see that all that is in Adam is in us. Not that we must actually accomplish every heinous act, but we must acknowledge that every heinous act of men is in our flesh and blood which cannot inherit the kingdom of God. But we are Christ’s and Christ is God’s, and everything is just as it must be to please the Father.

Your brother in Christ,
Mike
