Is, Was and Will Be – The Unknown Character of Christ and His Word

We Are Killed All the Day Long

Wow!

What a wonderful correlation of God’s Word. “Dying daily” is being “killed all day long”, and it is “lying dead in the streets of that great city where also our Lord was crucified.”

Rom 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
1Co 15:31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
Rev 11:7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
Rev 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Two is the number of witness, and God’s witnesses are overcome and killed daily by “the great city… where also our Lord was crucified.” It is an “all day long… dying daily” process, “in the streets of the great city where our Lord was crucified.” If you or I think that city where our Lord was crucified is only an outside of us thing, then we are denying that it we are the ones guilty of crucifying our Lord.

1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
Gal 1:4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
1Jn 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for [ the sins of] the whole world.
1Jn 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [ to be] the propitiation for our sins.

Thanks so much for sharing this with me.
Your brother in the Christ,
Mike
