What Part Of The Book Is Our Life?
Mike,
Gotcha… Yeah, I’m with ya on “is, was, and will be”… “IS” meaning that The Living Word is always in the ‘now’ for those (us) who “read” and “understand” (“this generation” of “is, was, and will be”)…
So basically, Christ’s Words (Scripture) IS the progression of our lives (spiritually)… We are that Book (all of it)…W____
Hi W____,
Yes, “we are the book, all of it,” because all men of all time will, “in due time… live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God… and keep the things written therein.”
Look at these scriptures and let the holy spirit put them together for you.
Psa 139:16 Thine eyes did see mine unformed substance; And in thy book they were all written, Even the days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was none of them. (ASV)
Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
1Co 4:6 Now these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes; that in us ye might learn not to go beyond the things which are written; that no one of you be puffed up for the one against the other. (ASV)
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Using the principle of “the sum of thy word is Truth,” we must conclude that if Mat 4:4 is true, then whatever is in “the books” was prophesied in “the book,” and we must conclude that while the details may vary and while the timing may be different for those in the second resurrection, nevertheless the truth is…:
Ecc 9:2 All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.
That “one event” is Mat 4:4 and Luk 4:4.
Luk 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
That “Word that man shall live by” has always been that the Potter deliberately “marred the vessel of clay” so as to “make it anew as seemed good to the Potter to make it.
Jer 18:4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
And it was all so done so that the first fruits would be used to bring in those at the end.
1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
1Co 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.
1Co 15:24 Then cometh the [ harvest at the] end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
1Co 15:25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
“They that are Christ’s at His coming” are those who “obtain mercy through their unbelief” in these verses:
Rom 11:30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
Rom 11:31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
Rom 11:32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
But those who “obtain mercy through their unbelief” do so for the express purpose of showing that same mercy to those through whose unbelief they obtained mercy. In that way God will, in the end, “have mercy upon all,” and “all things [ will have] come alike to all, [ and] there will have been one event to all…”
So we can even now exclaim with the apostle Paul in the very next verses of Rom 11:
Rom 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable [ are] his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
Rom 11:34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
Rom 11:35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
Rom 11:36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
Your brother in the Christ,
Mike
