Psa 128:1 A Song of degrees. Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. Twice in this study the holy spirit inspired the thought that those who fear the Lord are blessed. One instance is in verse one “Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD“, and the second time is in verse four “that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD“.

The word of God also gives us these two verses (Eph 2:8, Tit 2:11-12) that bookend this concept of fearing the Lord and make it evident to us that this fear works in conjunction with the grace and faith which are working in our lives, and this fear is something that must be ongoing in the lives of those with whom He is working from start to finish.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Tit 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Pro 9:10. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. Those phrases are found in Psalm 90:4 and 2Peter 3:8.
